How to Use SerenityLists
Learn how to make the most of your SerenityLists app with our comprehensive guide.
Sharing a List
To share a list you first invite the user to share the list by entering their Personal Code, then you provide that user with the Access code for the list. Once they enter the Access Code, they will have access to the list.
Ask for Personal Code
Ask the user for their Personal Code. This is their unique identifier in the SerenityLists app.
Press the Share Icon
Press the 'Share' icon on the list you wish to share. This will open the sharing interface.
Enter Personal Code
Enter the Personal Code. If you have entered the Personal Code correctly then you will see the email address of the person requesting access so you can check you are sharing with the correct person.
Press Share
Press on 'Share' to confirm the sharing request.
Provide Access Code
Provide the Access Code to the user. They will need this code to join your shared list.
Add a Shared List
To add a list someone has shared with you, you'll need both your Personal Code and the list's Access Code.
Provide Your Personal Code
Provide the list creator with your Personal Code and they will invite you to the list. The list creator will then provide you with the list Access Code.
Go to Shared With Me
Go to 'Shared With Me' and select 'Join List' or press on the Plus Symbol.
Enter Access Code
Enter the list Access Code (exactly as provided to you, using capital letters), and select 'Join List'.
List Appears
The list should now appear in your 'Shared With Me' section.
📝 Important Note
Shared Lists are 'Read Only' and so you can only view the contents of the list. Any changes made to the list by the creator will be updated automatically for you.
Remove Access to a Shared List
You can remove access to a shared list at any time to revoke someone's ability to view your list.
Go to Shared With Others
Press on 'Shared With Others' to see all the lists you have shared.
Find the User
Locate or search for the email address of the user whom you have shared the list with and press on them to show what has been shared with them.
Press Block Icon
Press on the red Block icon on the right side of each list you want to remove access to.
Confirm Removal
Confirm removal by pressing on 'Remove'.
⚡ Immediate Effect
Blocking a user from a shared list will remove them immediately from accessing the list.
Re-Adding a Blocked User to a List
In SerenityLists, you can re-add a user that was previously blocked back to a Shared List. In order to do this however, you must first create a new Unique Access code for the list.
🔑 New Access Code Required
Creating a new code for a list will not stop existing users from accessing the Shared List.
Request Personal Code
Request the user's Personal Code.
Go to the List
Go to the list you wish to share (you must go into the list) and select the Share icon at the top.
Generate New Code
Press on 'New Code'. This will generate a new Access Code for the list.
Enter Personal Code
Enter the user's Personal Code and confirm.
Provide New Access Code
Provide the user with the new Access Code for the list.
Saving Lists
You can only save lists you have created if you are a Pro user. This feature allows you to create backups of your important lists.
Go Into the List
Go into the list you wish to save.
Press Save Icon
Press on the Save Icon (computer floppy disk icon) at the top.
Provide a Name
Provide a name for the Saved List.
💾 Saved Lists Location
Saved Lists will appear in the 'Saved Lists' section.
Restoring a Saved List
To restore a Saved List, follow these simple steps to bring back your previously saved list.
Go to Saved Lists
Go to 'Saved Lists' section in your app.
Select Three Dots
Select the three dots to the right of the list you want to restore.
Press Load List
Press on 'Load List' to restore the saved list.
🔄 Automatic Category Restoration
Restoring a saved list will first check if the Category the list uses still exists. If it does not then the category will be re-created also.
Deleting Your Account
When you delete your account from SerenityLists, all of your data is removed from the system. This cannot be recovered once you have confirmed deletion.
⚠️ Permanent Deletion Warning
This action is irreversible. All your data will be permanently removed and cannot be restored.
Go to Main Page
On the Main page, press on your email address at the top, then scroll to the bottom of the page.
Press Delete Account
Press on 'Delete Account'.
Confirm First Time
Again press on 'Delete Account' to proceed to the confirmation step.
Type DELETE
Type the word 'DELETE' in the box (this must be in caps).
Final Confirmation
Select 'Delete Account' to permanently delete your account.
🗑️ Final Warning
Once completed your account login and all associated data will be permanently removed and can not be restored.
